Flagger (Part-Time, Intermittent)

We are currently hiring for a Flagger to work on a Part-Time, Intermittent basis, in the area of our Warwick, New York location.   This position is responsible for controlling the movement of vehicular traffic through telephone construction projects. This role will also work to keep company facilities in clean and orderly condition, will perform building maintenance, transportation and distribution of materials and supplies.


  • Intermittent schedule of 19 hours or less, Mon-Fri.
  • Occasionally required to work more or less hours;  10-hour shifts; weekends, holidays and evenings
  • Emergency On-Call availability


  • Discusses traffic routing plans, and type and locations of control points with superior.
  • Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site in designated pattern.
  • Directs movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
  • Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
  • Warns construction workers of potential danger to prevent accident and injury to workers.
  • Maintain the general tidiness of facilities and grounds throughout the day.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs in all facilities and grounds.
  • Sweep and pick up debris from sidewalks, entry ways and parking lots. 
  • Cut and trim grass, shovel snow and apply salt to sidewalks and parking lots.
  • Collect and transport trash and waste to disposal area; empty shredding bins.
  • Performs other cleaning duties as needed.
  • Pickup, transport and deliver items as needed.
  • Set up and take down tables, chairs and equipment for events and activities.
  • Construct or deconstruct office cubicles and furniture.
  • Load and unload trucks and move stock to designated areas.
  • Routinely check and replenish office and bathroom supplies and record supply levels for ordering
  • Vehicle maintenance such as wash, clean, check fluids, tire pressure and take to designated locations to perform preventive maintenance.


  • One year or more related experience and/or training
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance
  • Ability to work 10-hour shifts and overtime as needed
  • On-Call availability and able to work weekends, holidays and evening
  • Basic computer, internet, and associated software product skills (ie: Microsoft Word, Excel, and/or Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to read and write basic instructions and correspondence
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing and Carpentry skills preferred.

The work performed requires regular physical activity. 

Candidates must be able to:   

  • Stand or walk for sustained periods of time
  • Lift, move, carry, push, pull items up to 50 lbs.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance. 
  • Complete basic physical tasks with fingers, hands and arms (manual dexterity).
  • Use garden tools and equipment. 
  • Climb stairs and ladders at moderate heights. 
  • Specific vision and hearing abilities required such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Must be able to talk and hear. 


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
